Q: Can the Silver Polish scratch my finish?

A: The Silver Polish works amazing on solid silver, sliver plating and nickel plating that has no lacquer or finish on it. When using the polish on any type of plating make sure the instrument is free of dust, dirt and grime prior to using our polish which is to be applied to a clean instrument. If not cleaned prior to using our polish, the dust, dirt or grime may cause scratching and swirl marks as it gets dragged and mixed in with the polish and cloth. Also, always use a clean cloth when applying and removing the silver polish to avoid scratching your instrument. The quality of your plating can determine how easy it scratches. You can ask your instrument manufacturer for plating quality questions and if a polish can be safely applied. Always try a small inconspicuous area to test the results.
